Weekly English Tasks (plus daily reading) (to be done in any order) 

Writing task
Do the 'Small folk' task .(SEE SEPARATE BLOG BELOW)

Grammar task
A) Using different colours for each. Underline the nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs in these sentences.
1) Unfortunately, the disobedient dog escaped from his loose lead and leapt straight into the stinking, muddy ditch.
2) Yesterday, Jane strolled along the deserted country lane.
3) Terrifyingly, the ferocious food-starved lion pounced on the defenseless baby rabbit.
4) Without warning, the illuminating lightning lit up the dark, moonlit sky and the thunder boomed like giant drums in the heavens.
5) Bob, who was an incredibly greedy boy, gobbled all the delicious birthday cake in one gulp.

B) Now create 5 sentences of your own and underline the nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs in them.

Use each one in an exciting sentence. Remember to use varied openers, lots of adjectives, exciting verbs and a variety of punctuation.

Science 
1) Do an information sheet about all the different forces we looked at last term - gravity, friction, air resistance and water resistance. 
2) See if you can remember one of the investigations we did and show the rest of your family what we did.
Art -
Do a still life painting/drawing of some flowers or a tree.

RE - 
Following our inspirational visit from  Mr Singh earlier in the academic year, we would like the children to learn more about Sikhism. Video about Sikhism BBC Sikhism


Story: According to Google Maps, travel has decreased by around 85% around the UK.

Question:  Do we think people will travel less in the future? 

Ouse Class Ongoing Task - Who is your hero?
Over the last week I have been watching Captain Tom avidly on the news raising over 20 million pounds for our wonderful NHS. He has become my new hero.
We would like you to do a project for the next few weeks about your hero. Do lots of research and create a presentation about him/her. 


This week BBC Bitesize are launching BBC Bitesize Daily which teachers will be looking at this week so this may become part of our offer next week, feel free to have a look yourselves.
